Driving to your house
Was more stressful
Than asking you out.
I had to wait in your living room
For you to walk down the stairs.
You were wearing something new,
And it looked like your aunt
Is better at doing your hair
Than my mom is.
You said goodbye to her
With a hug,
And I shook your uncle’s hand
Before we got in my car.
“Okay,”
I said before you buckled in,
“I know this might be weird,
To start our date in my car,
But I have something for you.”
You watched me silently
As I reached behind my seat
And pulled out a wrapped gift.
“My mom may have wrapped it,
But the present’s from me.”
You tore through the paper carefully.
It was closer to pulling it off, actually,
Because you didn't tear it,
But when you opened the box up,
You gasped,
And were those tears
Welling up in your eyes?

First Flight
How frightening that first flight must have been,
hearts racing into the unknown,
and I should wonder how those men felt
at the first takeoff into the air,
gusts of wind beneath fragile wings,
if not for loving you.

Untold Stories- The Unsinkable Ship: Prologue
-6:43 AM, April 10th, 1912- Southampton, England
Nicholas Thatcher woke up extra early today. He gasped, waking up immediately. He sat up in his hotel bed, looking at the clock. Smiling, he got out of bed, careful not to wake Sofia (his sister) who was sleeping next to him. He went bare foot on the wooden floor, past the bed his mom and Amber (his other sister, twin of Sofia) were sleeping in. The 11 year old kneeled in the wooden chair that was pushed up to the high window so he could look out.
Their hotel in Southampton overlooked the White Star Line's Pier. Nick could see it from their floor of the hotel, just barely. In that ocean dock

Sink or swim
He stood on the dock
One foot reluctantly planted
The other standing at the ready
Like that fleeting moment
Suspended in mid-air
Gleefully anticipating the water on your skin
Yet apprehensive of those undiscovered depths
Which have yet to be kissed by sunlight
She dove in head-fist
Through the reeds and the icy darkness
And watched from below
As the light fragmented
Along the rippled surface
How stunning it was
Even in the deepest and feared unknown
Especially there.
In the light and in the dark
There was only him
He watched as she held her breath
Shackled by his own mind
Wanting for that planted foot
To be freed from its hesitations

TrainerTimpani is out of town for tonight, so this is TwiHungerCity17 submitting her poem for her. Don't worry, I'm her friend, so it's all good.
And this is VampireCatz! Which is my sister who also wanted to write in Anna's description. XD
Anyway. What did he get for her? We must know!
