One of my more favorite memories was when Father got me my first pet. I remember he told me that Dim and Dimentio were comming over again, so he got me something that could hopefully help me.
"Blumiere! Blumiere, where are you?" Father called.
"Bleh heh heh heh!" I laughed. I was hiding under the dining table's table cloth with Father's hat on. "Come find me, Daddy!"
I could hear him chuckling from his study. "Now where would my little Blumiere be?" he asked. He was pretending that he didn't know where I was so that I could have more fun. When I heard him walking into the dining room, I crawled into the kitchen and into an empty cabinet. "Ah ha!" Father said as he pulled up the table cloth. I laughed again when he realized that I moved. "I hear something," he called as he followed the sound into the kitchen. "Where could you be now?"
Father searched a few cabinets before finding me. "Here I am!" I said, giggling. He picked me up, and I took his hat off my head and put it back on his.
"Thank you," he said. "Now, you remember Dimentio from last week, don't you?"
My smile faded. "Yeah, he wasn't playing fair!"
"Well, he's comming over again. But, I got you something," Father said as he boped my nose. That made me giggle again.
"What is it?" I asked.
"Well, let's go get it," he said, smiling. He carried me out to the garden in the back of the castle. Behind my favorite black rose bush, a small chain chomp was tied to a post.
"Cool!" I shouted. I reached my little hand out to pet it. It barked at me playfully. "I'll call you... Chompy!" I said.
Father chuckled. "Come on, let's take him inside so we can hear when Dim and Dimentio get here." Father put me down and gave me Chompy's chain.
"Thank you, Daddy!" I said as I hugged his leg.
He reached down to pat my head. "You're welcome. Now, let's go."
"Fowow me, Chompy!" I said to him as I lead him inside.
Dimentio and his father arrived shortly after I got inside. Dimentio's eyes got wide when he saw Chompy. I noticed that one was purple and the other was yellow.
"Daddy..." Dimentio seemed scared of Chompy.
"Was that such a good idea?" Dim asked Father.
"Well after what your son did to him, yes. Yes it was," he replied. "He's completely harmless... Well, at least I know he won't harm Blumiere. I don't know about Dimentio though," he said smiling. His monocole reflected the little bit of light we had in the sky back at Dim, making him seem a bit more evil.
"Come on, Dimmy!" I said. "Let's pway a game!"
"But... I didn't bwing my shell..." Dimentio said nervously. "And don't call me Dimmy!"
"Okay...Dimmy! Heh heh heh! We don't need your Koopa shell! We can pway a different game!"
"What game...?"
"Fowow me! Ten I'll show you how to pway..."
Dim put down Dimentio, and I noticed that Dim was levitating. I lead Dimentio out to the court yard where we had plenty of space to run around. I thought of the perfect game.
"Dimmy! Let's pway... Chase!" I jumped up onto Chompy and chased Dimentio around the court yard, laughing meniacly. "How's it feel to be on the o-der side?"
"I sowwy, okay?"
"I dont bewieve you." I stopped Chompy and looked Dimentio in the eyes. Past the fear, there was a look of evil in his eyes.
"Ah ha ha! Smart for a widdle kid," Dimentio said. "How about we add...magic?"
"Wha...?" Dimentio snapped his tiny fingers. Suddenly, Chompy grew, and he barked at me. He looked angry. "...Chompy? Why- AH! Run, Dimmy!" Chompy started chasing us both.
"This wasn't supposed to happen! He was supposed to turn on you and obey me!" Dimentio cried. He tried snapping his fingers again, but nothing happened. We continued to scream and run away from Chompy.
"Daddy, help us!" we screamed together.
They turned to us. "Ah ha ha! Look at them!" Dim laughed.
Father joined in, laughing. "Poor little guys... Should we help them?"
"No way, they're fine. This is too funny!"
"Daddy!" we screamed.
"Okay, okay. Here," Dim said. He snapped his fingers, and Chompy returned to normal. Dimentio and I looked at each other and started laughing.
"Ah ha ha! That was pwetty funny!" Dimentio laughed.
"Hey, why don't we team up against our dads?" I asked him.
"Sure. Hey, I got an idea! Fowow my lead," he said deviously. We crept over to where they were talking. "Hey Daddy, can you open this?" He snapped his fingers behind his back and made himself a box.
"Okay..." Dim said as he grabbed the box from Dimentio. When he opened it, a blooper popped out and inked him in the face. We all laughed.
"Ah ha ha!! You got inked!" Dimentio laughed.
"You taught him well, Dim!" Father said. Dim took the blooper and threw it at Father, and it inked in his face, too.
"Look who's talking!" Dim said, laughing and pointing at him.
"Daddy, you got inked too!" I doubled over with laughter.
"Idiot. You ruined my monocole!" Father shouted.
"You ruined my hat!" Dim shouted back.
"That was me!" Dimentio said smiling.
Father took off his hat and threw it at Dim. "Hey!" he shouted. Dim took the blooper again and threw it back at Father. He grabbed it and tried to throw it back before it inked again, but it hit me instead. I got ink all over my face just like Dim amd Father.
"Daddy!!"
"Sorry," he tried to say with a strait face, but he laughed. I took it and threw it at Dimentio.
He was to busy laughing so he didn't see the blooper until it was too late. Covered in ink, we all laughed and tried to throw bloopers at each other. Chompy joined in, barking.
Finally, Dim and Dimentio had to leave. "Aww..." Dimentio and I said together.
"Come on, Blumiere. You need cleaned up," Father said picking me up. "Goodbye, Dim."
"See ya," Dim replied. He snapped his fingers and the gate locked behind him as he carried Dimentio back to their realm.
"Did you have fun this time?" Father asked me when we were inside.
"Yeah! Can we do that again?"
"Maybe with a little less ink," he replied."But for now, I'm going to give you a bath."
"Blumiere! Blumiere, where are you?" Father called.
"Bleh heh heh heh!" I laughed. I was hiding under the dining table's table cloth with Father's hat on. "Come find me, Daddy!"

First Flight
How frightening that first flight must have been,
hearts racing into the unknown,
and I should wonder how those men felt
at the first takeoff into the air,
gusts of wind beneath fragile wings,
if not for loving you.

Cadence
it was the softest idea that occurred to me,
while tracing the fresh memory of
your fingers on my skin,
calming me, like the sun going down on the wet, green earth;
this was the tenderness in your face as my tired tears
wet the cushions.
I was wholly encased in your warmth.
there I was slowly suspended, embryonic;
not still, but in a state of cadence,
returning to myself - harmonic
and returning.
you've seen me,
I arrive back to you every morning at the end of my long journeys,
the night still fresh in my cold hair
and the smell of quiet lingering between my fingers;
all the stars still clinging to my clothes and
I arrive at your body. th
