But they turn away

What I have to offer
A few people have said
Deserves recognition
But it goes over their head
It just isn't fair
Am I not more than nothing?
That's what they call me
And I know they're not bluffing
For years I have tried

My friends try to tell me
My ship hasn't yet sailed
But what they don't understand
Is simply nothing more
Than I've done all I can
My heart is sore
I've taken the hints
Maybe I should've taken them lighter
