Anna
~-~-~
~-~-~
I always wondered what heaven was like. They told me no one really knew that could tell us. Some think it's a kingdom in the clouds, and others say it's the only perfect world that will ever exist. Lying here, in a warm bed with silky sheets and sunshine making the back of my eyelids orange, I'm thinking it'll be alright here.
"Good morning, Anna," says a soft voice. I smile and open my eyes to see Blumiere half asleep and shirtless. On the nightstand in his room, two rings, mine and his, rest side by side. "Did you sleep well?"
"Mhmm," I reply. "Wait..."
Blumiere's here?! I sit up abruptly and look around. I'm in his room, wearing his shirt, and my phone's date is a few years into the future. "Anna, do you remember anything?" Blumiere asks me, sitting up and pulling me coser to him. I shake my head, my heart pounding very hard and lively in my chest. "You didn't die. When Chy ran up to you at midnight, the curse was broken, and it stopped everything, including the scientists who were going to shut you down. When everything started up again, Darclainia was back to normal, and the scientists said that your experiment had been a success. I think you can guess what happened next."
Memories of hugs and tears and a wedding and honeymoon fill my head so full that I don't notice the overflowing tears until Blumiere chuckles softly. "I'm alive," I whisper. Blumiere keeps talking, but I don't hear him. I'm alive, and nothing is going to take that away from me again. And then I think of Chy. "Blumiere, teleport me to her."
He stops for a moment, realizes I hadn't been listening, then hears what I said. He teleports the both of us to Chy's kitchen where she's grabbing milk out of her fridge. I throw my arms around her, just as she had in my last memory I have access to. "What the-- Anna? What are you--"
"She woke up today like the incident was yesterday," Blumiere explains for me.
"You saved my life," I cry, not budging at all even when she tries to pull away.
"Anna, I... All I did was--"
"Just shut up and accept it."
Chy finally hugs me back, and everything in this moment disappears. "All I did was imagine my life with you gone. And when I couldn't..."
"You don't have to. Chyanne, you taught me how to live. Even if it takes the rest of my life, I'll show you how much that means to me."
"As long as you promise never to do anything stupid like that again," she says, pulling away and looking me in the eyes. "Promise me."
I smile, tears of joy making me feel invincible, if only for this moment. "I promise that I'll be around as long as you want me to. You've given me life. And I intend to live."

First Flight
How frightening that first flight must have been,
hearts racing into the unknown,
and I should wonder how those men felt
at the first takeoff into the air,
gusts of wind beneath fragile wings,
if not for loving you.

Persistence
Persistence
At the end, only the words persist
The feelings,
like flowers in the Winter,
crumble
Just the words remain:
Loneliness,
Emptiness,
Silence
They speak of feelings that no longer fit them
They speak of dreams and desires without echo
Just the words remain:
written in the endless cold of the night
mistaking delirious with hope
My poetry remains singing the meetings
but it's only about the searching
but it's only about the mismatch
My poetic universe is made of black holes
It is starless nights
It is deserted planets
Just the words remain:
"I love you",
"Kiss Me",
"I need you"
These, however, I do not recognize,
They are legend

This is it, everyone. I finally finished! It's been a crazy ride of ups and downs, procrastination and rolls, laughs and tears. At least on my part~ And now for a few acknowledgements! I want to thank Chy, for being the supporting character and a supporting friend throughout the whole thing and for all the years of attention I've craved, EvilScarlette, for being a very active reader who's always willing to comment, Big Hero 6 and the soundtrack for giving me the last little push to finish and upload the last two chapters (I saw the movie today. So good. ), and my editor, for putting up with herself the whole way through. (I'm my own editor. XD)
In all seriousness, I'm really proud of this one. Is it the final draft? Heck no. Is this the last of Anna? Heck no. Am I taking a break? ....A small one. But I think I deserve it. I don't think I've ever spent as much time reading and rereading and rerereading something as I have for this.
But one thing's for sure. I sure am feeling alive after all of this! I hope you all enjoy, everyone!

That was a very good ending. Great work!
